Project Life/Weekly Album

As I mention earlier in the year, which is crazily nearly half way through, I am doing Project Life this year as my yearly format album this year.  I am enjoying using the divider pages and changing up the theme each week, but I have decided I still need to add in a few single photo pages to mix it up a bit.

Here is a couple of my divider page LO’s and some of the other pages I have made recently.

I am still typing all my journaling, I am using my typewriter or a typewriter font on my computer.  I am finding that I am putting more and more journaling on my weekly pages.

The above two LO are from week 18, I am finding if I have an event in a week I am wanting to create LO where I can showcase the photos not the journaling.  Both of these were made using scraps from my scraps basket, the top LO is using papers from Cosmo Cricket which I have had for about 3 years and are in my use or loose pile.

This is a 8.5 x 11 page which I used to document a weekend as I had run out of space in the divider page.  The back of this LO includes some ephemera from the weekend.

I am hoping to share some more LO’s in the next couple of weeks when I get the images uploaded on to my laptop.

Star Wars Card

I know my updating of this blog has not been going to well, and the post I had set to publish, didn’t so I am going to re-write them and publish them over the next couple of weeks.

I just wanted to share a card that I made for my nephews 7th birthday last weekend.  I am not a card maker and admit that I struggle with ideas, I knew that for my nephew that it has to be Star Wars themed.  So I set about researching on the internet ideas, and then decided to tackle making my own cut files on the Silhouette Cameo and seeing what I could do.

Above is the result a card made using just cardstock and mists.  I found a star wars font which I was able to use to create the cut files I wanted to make the  design.  I am pleased to say that it was received well  and went well with all of his Star Wars themed gifts.

I will never be a card maker as I find the process to stressful, but I do like making personalised cards and am really pleased with how this one turned out.

Google Reader Closing!!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Just discovered Google Reader is closing, I am tryign out bloglovin.com, lets hope it is easy to use! What are you going to use?

Hello Dear Followers!!

Well Hello followers, if you are still around, I have been a bad blogger and not posted in nearly 2 months, I guess that is that resolution out of the window!  I have however been doing lots of scrapping and lots of shopping!

On a side note I think I am doing less blogging as I use Instagram all the time, I am a bit of an addict.  I have so many of my craft friends on their, I sometime forget m blog.  I am trying to change that, but if you use Instagram follow me , Kittynance is my handle.

Well as I said I have been doing a bit of stocking up on all the lovely CHA releases and also still getting my Studio Calico kit order each month.  I am still loving this kit, although I have a couple I have not used the papers from yet, but the embellishments have joined my growing stash.  TkMaxx has also had lots of wonderful American Crafts stuff in recently so have stocked up a bit, it only been from the last year and so reasonable priced too.

My love for Wood Venner has continued, I was inspired by the wonderful Amy Tangerine to get a DIY tray to hold all my veneer so it was easy to see what I have.  Major problem is that it is already full, so I am making it my mission to use them rather than save them.

I am also continuing on with my Project Life, and so far I am up to date.  I am doing lots of journaling and can not wait to see it at the end of the year and be able to look back on all the small things.

march 026

I also have been scrapping up a storm, I have been speed scrapping and watching loads of Youtube videos to get inspired whilst I scrap.  This past 2 months I have made 28 LO’s so I am hoping to look at completing a couple of my albums pretty soon.

I promise I will be back soon with some posts of some of the LO’s I have done and also looking at some of the inspiration I am finding out there on the internet.

Happy Scrapping everyone.

Getting started with Project Life

This time last year I was in California, but this year  instead I am in snowy Suffolk.  I hate the blooming stuff, it causes nothing but trouble.  Me and the man had a trip planned to America again for February, but due to a number of reason this has been postponed to July and we are planning to be away for my Birthday and the 4th July weekend.  The plus side of the delay is more time to save, and more time to continue on my weight loss journey.  We are hoping to get away in February too, just looks like it will have to be in the UK somewhere as need to be close to home.

The plus side of the weather is being stuck indoors and having crafting time. I have jumped on the Project Life bandwagon, as created by Becky Higgins, and so far I am loving it.  For the last two years I have completed the Document 2011/2012 project as started by Shimelle, but decided to change it up for this year.  One of my lovely Instagram crafting buddies was giving up scrapbooking and was selling her stuff off, very sad as she created beautiful pages, but good for me as I picked up a Project Life Album with some protector in, to get me started.  I must admit 2 weeks later I found a box of 100 Becky Higgins page protectors I forgot I had!, I brought this a year ago!

I have been pinning lots of pages on Pintrest and looking at all the loveliness on Instagram and decided this weekend was the weekend to get caught up.  It also was well planned as my Studio Calico box turned up on Friday and I have subscribed to there Project Life kit too.

So here are my pages so far.

Introduction Pages

Resolution/Goals Page – Featuring my One Little Word (Ali Edwards) for this year, which is CLEAR.

jan5 033

Week 1 – Getting back in to routines and learning new skills.

jan5 036

Week 2 – Lots of details about starting Slimming World

jan5 040

Week 3- This week I took a lot of photos due to the snow, so did a double page spread.

jan5 042jan5 044

I must say I love this for capturing the everyday photos, I am sure I will do a few 12x12 pages to go in this album too, but most of my 12x12 pages will be for my travel scrapbooks.  I am not going to post all these pages on my blog, as I know they are not as interesting to look at as 12x12 LO’s.  I do think I will be using PL supplies in my LO’s though and my typewriter recovered from my mum is going to feature a lot as  I love journaling this way.

I am nearing completion of my Barcelona Albums, only another 20 pages to go and some journaling to do.  Then it is starting on the mammoth task of the America Trip albums and the Paris/Disney album from 2012 too.

I probably should get myself scrapping rather than blogging!!

Thanks for looking.

Happy New Year- Changing it up.

Happy New Year Everyone – bit late on the bandwagon I know!

I have seen lots of posts which are reviews of the year and favourite projects etc.  I looked back at doing this and realised how much my style has changed in one year. I thought I would do a quick post about that.

December 2012

As you can see I have embraced the whitespace on my LO’s.  I have also used stamps a lot more on my LO’s,  I think this is mainly to do with my monthly subscription to Studio Calico which has definitely changed the way I scrap.  I also think the fact that I use online galleries as my inspiration too is a key, I can not remember the last time I brought a magazine.

I am going to be jumping on the Project Life(PL) bandwagon to document my daily photography I am then going to use 12x12 LO’s mainly for my travel albums as well as some divider pages.  I am sure I will still put some 12x12 LO’s in my yearly album, and have a few to finish off from last year, but it will not be my focus for the day to day stuff.

Of course I am still going to keep up with the SC monthly kit and have signed up for the PL one too.  It will be interesting to see if I keep PL up and how my style develops further.  I am sure I will get better at updating this blog and would love for you to come back and see what I am up to.

Happy Crafting and Thanks for Looking
